Khurshid Rizvi is a Pakistani poet, scholar, and academic, considered an authority on classical Arabic literature. Born on 19 May 1942 in Amroha, India, his family migrated to Montgomery (now Sahiwal), Pakistan after Partition in 1948. He earned his MA in Arabic in 1961, topping the University of the Punjab, and later completed a PhD in Arabic from the same university in 1981. His works include poetry collections like Rayegan, Imkan, and Deryaab, alongside scholarly essays and Arabic manuscript editing. He was awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz in 2008 by the Government of Pakistan, and remains a respected figure bridging classical scholarship and modern Urdu verse
