Shahid Malik

Shahid Malik is an eminent Pakistani broadcast journalist, media educator, and Urdu non-fiction writer known for his masterful biographical sketches (shakhsi khake) and cultural memoirs. Born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan, he developed a sharp analytical eye and an elegant prose style that eventually led to a distinguished, decades-long career as a senior reporter and commentator for the BBC World Service (BBC Urdu). He is best known for his acclaimed literary volumes Khush Nawai and Yaar Sarai, which brilliantly chronicle the lives of legendary media personalities and intellectuals of South Asia.
