Firoz Khan Noon was a Pakistani statesman and writer, best known as the seventh Prime Minister of Pakistan and as author of the memoir From Memory. Born in Hamoka village, Khushab, Punjab, he was educated at Aitchison College, Lahore, before studying law at Oxford's Wadham College and qualifying as a barrister. He held major posts including Punjab government minister, High Commissioner of India to London, and Chief Minister of West Punjab, and authored several books such as Canada and India, Wisdom from Fools, Scented Dust, and From Memory, which chronicles his life and political career. He was knighted by the British government, receiving the KCIE and KCSI titles. He served as Prime Minister from 1957 until the 1958 imposition of martial law, after which he withdrew from politics, and he died in 1970 at his ancestral village near Sargodha.
