Mufti Muhammad Abdul Qayyum Hazarvi was a Pakistani Islamic scholar and jurist, born in Merah, Mansehra District, in 1933. He began his religious education under his father and his uncle, Maulana Mahboob-ul-Rahman, before studying at religious institutions across Pakistan. He graduated from Hizbul Ahnaaf, the central Dar-ul-Uloom in Lahore, in 1955, and went on to specialize in Hadith studies under renowned scholar Maulana Sardar Ahmad Chishti Qadiri, earning his authorization (sanad) in Hadith in 1956 from Jamia Razawiyyah Mazhar-e-Islam. He later served with Jamia Nizamia Rizvia in Lahore and was associated with Tanzeem-ul-Madaris Ahl-e-Sunnat. He passed away on 26 August 2003, remembered as one of the notable Islamic scholars of his generation.
