Hamidul Huq Chowdhury

(1901–1992)
Hamidul Huq Chowdhury was a Pakistani-Bangladeshi lawyer, politician, and newspaper proprietor, born in Ramnagar village, Feni District. He studied law at Calcutta University, joined the Calcutta bar, and later entered politics, serving on the Bengal Legislative Council and representing the Muslim League before the Radcliffe Boundary Commission in 1947. He founded The Pakistan Observer in 1949, which became The Bangladesh Observer after the Liberation War, and went on to serve as Pakistan's Foreign Minister in 1955–56. He later moved to West Pakistan before Bangladesh's independence, and died in 1992, remembered as a major figure in South Asian journalism and politics.
